Leadership is Not a Preferred Parking Spot
Most people think leadership is the top of the mountain...
You perform well, climb the ladder, and eventually “make it.” Then come the perks. The title. The authority. Maybe even a preferred parking spot…eh? 😏
But real leadership doesn’t look like the top of a mountain.
It looks more like an upside-down pyramid, with the leader at the bottom holding everything up.
Clearing obstacles. Creating clarity. Shaping an environment where people can actually do their best work.
That’s the job.
Helping your team succeed. Customers win. People grow.
Which is also why leadership isn’t for everyone.
Being great at your craft doesn’t automatically mean you should lead others. Leadership isn’t a reward you earn. It’s a responsibility you carry.
Not a preferred parking spot…but a decision to serve and care for the people in your circle.
The best leaders don’t measure success by how many people report to them.
They measure it by how many people they helped become better.
